While I am in awe of Sally’s impressive trivia resume, I don’t have much of my own to offer. Besides (*buffs nails*) being a 2021 Jeopardy! champion. How did I end up head over heels in love with trivia? The Ramones say it best: it’s TV’s fault I am this way. I was most likely injecting episodes of MTV’s True Life or the Real Housewives of Wherever into my eyeballs while I could have been starting out in the world of trivia. My only regret is that I couldn’t have been in two places at once, because I credit my ravenous appetite for media consumption with most of my success in quizzing. To be fair, Jeopardy! was part of my extensive daily TV schedule from a young age. Sally and I met and became friends while I was working on another passion of mine: a crossword puzzle, in the back of an Honors English seminar, like I wasn’t supposed to. We have been friends and trivia teammates ever since. Nothing brings me joy like learning, and trivia gives me the chance to trade knowledge like Pokémon cards with friends and strangers!

Hi there! I’m Sally. I’m obsessed with trivia and it shows. This is pretty much the only place I can flex my [trivia resume], so here goes: in 2007, I was captain of Ankara’s knowledge bowl team, and we won all European championships, baby! Later, I attended UW, where I was president of the Mike Bentley-created quiz bowl team for four years. I continue to volunteer with NAQT, and moderate tournaments for cute middle and high schoolers across the country (who know way too much about Stendahl, and nothing about Kurt Cobain). In 2016, I peaked and became a Jeopardy! Champion!. My life is all downhill from there and I know it!! EXCEPT, I still get to do what I love all the time, because once 2020 came a-knockin’, I started hosting in my backyard, and Leah and I got the idea to take everything to the next level. We knew we both wanted to bring our great passion and skill for trivia to the forefront of our lives, and hopefully, to the forefront of your backyards.
